Intern Position
Background:
The Climate Risk and Resilience Lab is a dynamic research-based startup dedicated to advancing knowledge and technology for building resilience and understanding risk in the face of climate challenges. Our work is centered on innovative research projects and technology development aimed at enhancing disaster and climate resilience. We collaborate with communities, governments, academia and non-governmental organisations to provide cutting-edge research and influence policy and practice through the knowledge generated from our research.
Job Description:
The intern will play a crucial role in supporting various aspects of our research initiatives and business development activities. Key responsibilities include:
Research Project Support:
- Assist in ongoing research projects related to disaster and climate resilience.
- Contribute to data collection efforts, including field visits when necessary.
Business Development:
- Support the director in business development activities related to climate and resilience.
- Assist in preparing proposals and engaging with potential partners.
Content Creation:
- Aid in the development of technical briefs, blogs, and research papers.
- Ensure high-quality documentation and communication of research findings.
Working Arrangements:
We believe in a flexible working environment that values deliverables and work quality. The position encourages a balanced approach that includes work from the office and occasional work from home. The intern is required to attend important meetings, participate in field visits, and meet deadlines.
Remuneration:
This is a paid position with a monthly remuneration of NPR 10,000 for the initial three months. The possibility of extension and an upgrade in compensation will be based on the intern’s performance and resource availability.
Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Engineering/Civil Engineering/Agriculture. Currently pursuing thesis or recently completed Master’s degree is preferred.
- Graduates with no prior experience but a strong interest in the climate change and disaster related research are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
